Making your first cold call? It can feel like you’re about to jump out of a plane without a parachute.
But here’s the deal: if you know a bit about who you’re calling, practice what you’re going to say (out loud, not just in your head), and then just go for it? You’ll be alright.
Think of it this way: the worst they can say is “no,” and that’s not the end of the world. Find something that chills you out before you call, like deep breaths or jamming to your favourite tune, and then dial. Just dial. Experience the rejection–you’ll be experiencing it a lot, so get used to it.
After, take a minute to think over how it went, what you nailed, and what made you stumble. And then, give yourself a pat on the back or treat yourself to something nice.
